Dr. AmyPlatko-Williams has over 20 years of experience treating serious medical and surgical conditions and offering regular pet wellness care. Beyond first-rate pet care, we make our clinic comfortable and calm, so your pet can relax in the waiting room and look forward to meeting our well trained staff and veterinarian.

  • Amy Platko-Williams
    DVM

    Amy Platko-Williams, DVM received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University in 1996. Prior to that, she received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Bioscience from Penn State University in 1992. 

    In 1996, she moved to the Honesdale area and has worked as a veterinarian in Wayne County since then. Dr. Platko lives in the Honesdale area with her husband Clark Williams and their two daughters. She also shares her home and life with her dog, Rachel, 5 cats, and a ferret.

    DVM, DABVP (Canine and Feline Practice), RDCS

    Dr. Esser graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences at New Mexico State University. She practiced small animal and exotic and wildlife medicine and surgery in Jacksonville, Florida for several years before moving to the Poconos to make her home.

    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Toni graduated from Johnson college in 2008 with an Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology, and then went on to receive her state certification in the summer of 2009. Toni was drawn to this profession by her love for helping animals, helping the injured and sick. 

    As an avid reader, she is always continuing her education by learning all of the new advancements and techniques the veterinary field has to offer. 

    Her love of learning sends her to many continuing education seminars including nutrition, weight management, and new/updated medical equipment. 

    Toni loves working with companion animals, along with pocket pets and exotics. Her hobbies are reading, gaming, syfy/cartoons, her hair bow collection, and she enjoys a wide variety of music/entertainment.

    Jessica grew up in New York before attending Unity College in Maine. She moved to Wayne county after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Ecotourism in 2007. She shares our team's enthusiasm for animal care and our commitment to collaborative care.

    An avid reader, gamer, outdoor enthusiast, and pet lover, she shares her home with her husband Matthew, a cat, a dog, and a chinchilla.

    Customer Service Representative

    Karen served on the board of directors for the Dessin Animal Shelter from 2016 to 2018 and volunteered extensively during that time. Karen retired from her teaching career in 2018, and now is able to fulfill her enjoyment in animals by joining our team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Education as well.

    Karen has been a Wayne County resident for 40 years and shares her home with her partner of nearly 20 years, Steve. Karen has a loving son, 3 dogs, and one grand cat. Her hobbies include spending time with her dogs, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and gardening.

    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Kaila graduated from Johnson college in 2008 with an Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology and obtained her license as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She lives in Honesdale with her fiance', their dog Atlas, two cats Cleo and Olive, and a rabbit named Fig. She enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, crafting and kayaking.

    Judy comes from Bucks county and has been a resident of Honesdale since December 2019. She lives with her husband Richard of 43 years and her 2 dogs. She has 2 sons, their spouses, and 3 grand dogs. Judy loves being around people and pets!! She also loves to bake and watch movies.
